Plan Around the Opening Hours

Pick Your Day Until February 21, 2027, the museum opens Tuesday to Sunday. From February 22 it opens every day.
Arrive by 3:00 PM Doors open at 9:00 AM and close at 5:00 PM, and most visits take about two hours.
Over the Holidays Closed on December 25 and January 1. On December 24 and 31, it closes at 2:00 PM.

Getting There from Around Naples

From Napoli Centrale

Take Metro Line 2 to Napoli Campi Flegrei, then the R7 bus to Via Coroglio.

From the Airport

Ride the Alibus to Napoli Centrale and follow the metro route from there. Taxis from the airport charge a fixed fare.

From Molo Beverello

Take an EAV bus for the Phlegraean area to Piazzale Tecchio, then change to the R7.

From the Port of Pozzuoli

Walk 200 m to the Cumana station, ride toward Montesanto, get off at Dazio and switch to the R7.

Leave the Tangenziale at Fuorigrotta or Agnano and follow the signs. Parking is 200 m from the entrance.

1. Do I need to book tickets in advance?

Individual visitors don’t have to, but booking online saves you queuing at the ticket desk, especially at weekends and during holidays. School groups must book ahead.

2. How long does a visit take?

About two hours on average. Allow longer if you’re adding a planetarium show, a workshop or a temporary exhibition.

3. What exhibitions can I see?

Corporea, the interactive museum of the human body; Insects & Co., with live insects and other arthropods; an exhibition on the sea; the Planetarium; and temporary exhibitions that change each year.

4. Is there somewhere to eat, and can I bring my own food?

The complex has a café and a large food area with a menu that changes daily. If you’d rather bring a packed lunch, you can eat it in the outdoor spaces.

5. Is there a gift shop?

The Science Store is at the exit of Corporea and keeps the same hours as the museum. It stocks science games, experiment kits, robots and books.

6. Is Città della Scienza accessible for visitors with disabilities?

The museum works to keep the Science Centre free of architectural barriers, and staff and assistance equipment are available for visitors with disabilities.

7. Are there guided tours?

Yes. On weekends and holidays, guided tours leave from meeting points inside the museum.
